Toss - India opt to bat

AB de Villiers is back as expected and so is Morne Morkel. The duoreplaceKhaya Zondo and Imran Tahir. There was a huge cheer when Markram confirmed AB's return. The big news from the Indian camp though is that Kedar Jadhav is down with a hamstring injury and has been replaced by Shreyas Iyer. What an opportunity this is for Iyer! This will also put the focus on Hardik Pandya though. He will be expected to bowl 10 overs on this flat deck. Rain might make an appearance during the run chase as well.

Teams:

South Africa (Playing XI): Hashim Amla, Aiden Markram(c), Jean-Paul Duminy, AB de Villiers, Heinrich Klaasen(w), David Miller, Chris Morris, Andile Phehlukwayo, Kagiso Rabada, Lungisani Ngidi, Morne Morkel

India (Playing XI): Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli(c), Ajinkya Rahane, Shreyas Iyer, MS Dhoni(w), Hardik Pandya, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah

Build up

It's a territory that South Africa have never been in. Trailing 3-0 in an ODI series at home is something they are not used to. More importantly, getting schooled by two spinners in their own backyard is nothing short of a nightmare. The injuries to Faf du Plessis, Quinton de Kock and AB de Villiers didn't help matters as well and among the trio, one of them is all set to return in their bid to desperately stop this streak. De Villiers will be expected to handle the spinners in the middle overs but South Africa need support from the other end as well.

They will also hope for a change in luck following a change in their jersey colour, albeit temporarily. It's the annual pink ODI and South Africa can take solace from the fact that they have never lost one before, in five previous games. It's played to raise awareness about breast cancer. Will the occasion spur them on again after three successive failures? We will wait and watch.

Apart from the spin duo, South Africa will have massive concerns over another man from the Indian setup. Virat Kohli has been nothing short of phenomenal in this series. After stroking a masterful century in the run chase in the opening ODI, he produced one of his best knocks in this format in the previous game to help India set a formidable target for the Proteas. They will have to find ways to see the back of the Indian skipper as soon as possible in order to have a crack at the middle order that hasn't had much to do so far.
